South Beach is a huge sunbathing beach with a scenic view of the Atlantic
Ocean and the Lower New York Bay. If you look in the distance, you will
also be able to see a small disconnected island offshore, where it is
quite a common site to see sailboats harboring on it's beach.
The F.D.R. Boardwalk along South Beach is two and one-half miles long,
which is the fourth largest in the world. Visitors enjoy strolling and
bicycling throughout the year. From October to May, fishing is also
permitted.
